Working with the main contractor we supplied and installed JHS Triumph loop carpet tiles at Capital Tower in the heart of Cardiff City Centre.
Outline of Work:
- Uplift and dispose of existing floor coverings on the sixth floor.
- Supply and install 505m2 of JHS carpet tiles in office space across entire sixth floor.
- Supply and install Altro Walkway to the kitchen connected to the office space..
We were responsible for the uplift and removal of the existing carpet. We chose not to use machinery to uplift the carpet as we had to be courteous of the office staff and the business below on the 5th floor of the building.
As the project was in the centre of Cardiff we were unable to have a skip delivered to site but we was able to have a ‘wait and load’, we arranged with a local firm a time that we would have all of the tiles on the street and due to good organisation we were able to dispose of the tiles very easily. One of the things that we looked into with the local waste company was the fact that they would recycle the old tiles, this is very important to our company policy and we do what we can for the environment.
As with most commercial projects we were asked by the client to finish the job as quickly as possible as deadlines were very tight. The DCS Flooring team are very quick and efficient so this was no problem and we completed this whole project in 2 days, which was very impressive.
